Remember to smile at everyone that passes you by. Smiling will cheer you up even when you are not happy (a smile releases endorphins), and you may brighten the other person's day. It is the smallest thing to make everyone's day a little brighter!
Hug a puppy or other cuddly animal or look at a picture of one. Studies show this will also make you a happier person.
Drink tea. A cup of Lipton's tea with lots of skim milk always cheers me up! Tea is also healthier for you than coffee.
Eat healthy! When you eat healthier food you feel great (I learned this recently...) I have a major sweet-tooth, but I have learned moderation. My body looks and feels great, and that is something that makes me smile. This is a tough one with all of the unhealthy (and quick) options, but with a little forethought, healthier eating can be achieved! Eating more frequent, smaller meals is a great start.
Love someone. Love them unconditionally and try to show them every day that you care. Kiss them every day before you leave (no matter how late you may be, it only takes a second). Ask about their day and listen. Do not nag them because they will be less likely to get that thing done, and it will not make you happy.
Exercise. I will admit, this is one that I am working on. I am one of those people that think about the gym and then find anything else to occupy their time. I have found that if I sign up for a class I am much more likely to get myself to the gym because then it is a part of my schedule. I am signing up for yoga at my local gym, and I will mention in my posts whether or not I am making any progress! It is recommended to get an hour of physical exercise every day for healthy (and happy) living.
Be kind to the environment. I am passionate about being environmentally friendly because when you think about it, this is the only world we get. We have a finite amount of natural resources, and we can all do our part in making it a better place to live for future generations. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Please be kind to our earth. I will post any earth-friendly suggestions I can think of!
Save part of every paycheck. Having some savings will make you ready for any circumstance and you will feel more secure about your future no matter what it brings. It is not too diffucult to control your spending if you assess what you spend on (necessary and unneccessay) and develop a budget. I will post how I plan my spending, as well as any money saving tips I find.
Use a small-wins strategy in everyday life. I love to figure out how to make little things work. It gives me a real sense of satisfaction.
This list may grow when more things come to mind :)
